Every time we get together, the cards would come out and if we wanted a change it would something with Dice.

Either way I learnt from experiencing some happy memories due to the games we shared.

Now there is Facebook games. I love Collaspe & Farmville the best and I have meet some really neat friends from my Farmville neighbours. Most are really happy people and we all wish each other well in our accomplishments or celebrations.

I went to a webinar the other day & listened to a point of view that surprised me. It was said that “people judge you by having facebook games all over your wall”.

And guess what! I went straight to my page and deleted the game applications.

Then I thought about why I play them, Why do I spend my time there etc etc etc.
I looked at all the happy & positive people I had as friends, I looked at my amazing children & their friends and I realised I only got to know them though playing games on facebook.
No matter what game I play, the team members of that application help each other to obtain goals.
We even spur each other on as a group. We like each other’s comments or status it goes on and on.

I like the vast age range I have as well, It provides constant stimulation for me.

I also get to have good relationships with my family where we play games and message each other at least weekly, it creates healthy bonding.

I remember travelling on a bus across the Australian bite and I pulled out a pack of cards to teach other passengers Skip-bo. Everyone I introduced to that game enjoyed themselves and attracted other people to play. So I meet more people and quickly passed away the Kilometres.

It was my grandmother taking her time to play with me and my mother for buying the countless games that I have to thank. As not only is it a tool to enjoy people’s company with, but something that creates long lasting pleasant memories.

So tell me, why would someone want to judge me simply because I play facebook games?

I'd be intested in your comment.

Keep playing those games!

Socail Media

Have you ever wondered why"Socail Media" gets all the attention lately?
First it was chat rooms, then instant messager, fourms, groups.
Now we have Blogger, wordpress, Twitter, Linked In, Facebook, You tube & My Space just to mention a few.
The constant change can be tiring without the right introduction or tools.

Now I am learning all about Pages in Face Book :) yet again more learning.
Being a baby boomer I am striving to keep up. So we know they are healthy & doing well, they are still close though, but we have had a fair bit of rain lately which is unusual so they are not short of water, which was our main concern.

We knew they would be ok with the Dingos as they were giving the dogs a bit of curry the weeks up to their release.

I do miss them, but glad we spent time with them and gave these guys a chance at life.

I consider myself fortunate that they shared my backyard.

60 days of Twitter Traffic Machine

Well I am pleased with the results over the last month.

The auto feeds are providing great content from others blogs and such.

The articles are that good, I go to Twitter and read from my own feeds and notice others are enjoying the content too.

I have 1,181 followers and I am following 1642, I still haven't got the hang of following others messages. Next number them and mix them up, so you don’t know which photo you are tuning into.
Now grab your first envelope and shut your eyes for focus and write on the envelop everything you think, see or taste. It can be easier if you ask questions.
Like...
What sex is the person?
How many people in the photo?
What’s the weather like in the photo?
Where in the world is this photo taken?
What is the health of these people?
Is this person working?
What activity is this person doing?? Etc, etc, etc
After you have processed all your photos, open them and read what applies, as some will be future, you may need to wait a while for your proof. You will surprise yourself at how accurate you are.

2- See your own Aura: stand in front of a mirror, focus on the tip of your left shoulder for no more than 5 minutes. She is a wonderful writer who just vibrates through her words.

She calls herself Miss Guided Kat, but there is nothing miss guided about her, take a look at an example of her writing Words written in stone . see what I mean her words leave you wanting more, even on the forum when she comments you feel drawn to read every line. I haven't come across many writers like that.

Kat lives in Las Vagas in the United States and here is a snip it from her about page.
At the very essence of who I am, words fall short to describe. However, if we are talking personality traits here....I can only say, you never know who you are going to meet in me at any given moment.

MGK is a natural born storyteller actually I could call her a fable writer. when I read these blog entries I tend to flow from one perception to another when I went to creative writing classes years ago. It was instilled to us that a good writer can write with layers so that any reader can relate on various levels. Well Kat does that well.

Here is another example Weeds can Show Way if you would like to know more about MGT take a peek at her blog Dream2Extreme and enjoy!!!!

Twitter Traffic Machine Bill Crosby

I was introduced to Bill Crosby the creator of Twitter Traffic Machine the other day.
I now understand so many different programs through this one introduction.

His easy explainations about Bitly, Twollo, Twellow, Twitterlater, Twitterkarma & Twitter was so helpful to my Internet education.

If you really want to find out about other people with your interests I suggest you look it up.
Since meeting, sharing & learning from so many people in the last month I have snowballed my on line presence.

Things have definitly changed since the 90s

I have usually stayed away from social networking, but it has opened up my network & communication skills to such an extent, that I had to share it here and encourage anyone in the outback to take a look around.

Since implimenting the TTM within 3 short days, I went from 100 to 400 followers on Twitter, Bill believes you can gain 16,000 followers within 90 days, so far so good. The Anzac service is held at Dawn on the 25th April every year.

It is a time to reflect on all those who have contributed to protect our countries throughout the various wars.

Our Veterans hold the service at Paddy's flat and cook a great trench breakfast for who ever shows. Condsidering our towns population is small there was a huge turnout today, it's one of the few times I get to catch up with people.

I love seeing them in their uniforms and wearing their medals, makes me proud & grateful.
While I was waiting for breakfast I glanced over to a table full of past photos/reports/medals and bit & pieces.

I love aircraft of any sort, so I scanned through all the photos, saw some wrecks and then I spotted an article.
I sat down & read this piece that was written by one of the soliders before, during & after they were ambushed.
Apparently it was common to be ambused at night.

The writing was so descriptive that I felt I was there in the trench beside him.
He spoke of the fear giving dry mouth, the scenery, stepping on others toes as they marched quietly and quickly through the jungle. Anyone reading it would be affected in some way.
This article was dedicated to a young 19yr solider that was shot in the back that night.

It was a prefect read for the enviroment I was in this morning. ANZAC is a time to remember those that never came home.

I will finish with this.
They shall not grow old
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them
Nor the years condemn,

At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,
We will remember them.

A period of informed that Quandongs are Emus favourite food. So I need to know what the plant/tree looks like.
After reading the post I am inspired to add it to my food forest, Apparently they grow naturally around me.

It sounds like the type of fruit I'd like to eat, so the Emus will have to learn to share.

It is beautifully presented and provides tips on it's uses.

If you are like me and are unsure what they look like follow this link to the blog
Quandong Fruit in the Outback

Enjoy

15 Tips for travelling in the Outback of Australia

Generally you want most if not all of these items when travelling on the long lonely roads which we have in the outback.
To give you an idea of distances, My nearest towns’ are 110kms South, 420kms North, 530kms West & 200kms East and not much in between, very little shade and no refreshment stands.

Most of the Australian Outback has conditions that require forethought.

Here are 15 helpful hints to have the best travelling experience in the Outback

1 - Tell someone of your travel plans before you go.

2 - Phone main roads for road conditions ie: (138 138 ) for Western Australia.

3 - Have a reliable vehicle. Always service your vehicle before your journey, check tyres & spares, Keep windscreen clean & clear. Our roads are very long & straight, mirages are common and so is our wildlife.

4 - Carry plenty of water, water for your vehicle, your Pet & per person allowance, and always carry more for that extra person whom you come across, that maybe stuck.
I have used my supplies of water to limp a car home with a leaking radiator, some 600kms away.
A roo jumped in front of the car damaging the radiator and no I wasn’t driving, truth is it wouldn’t have mattered who drove, it happens to the best of us. If you have a solid vehicle it is best to drive straight through. It can be very dangerous if you try to swerve them. The headlights tend to dazzle & cause distortion, senses get confused and so it is not uncommon for kangaroos’ or Emus to turn around and go in the opposite direction.

5 - reading material, if your vehicle has problems, you won’t be using any electrics and so something that does not require power, would be helpful to pass the waiting time.

6 - Portable AM/FM radio & batteries. To listen to weather or road conditions.

7 - 2 to 3 days worth of food: Packet crackers, long life milk, canned food in case of an emergency.

8 - First Aid kit, a roll of crepe bandage for snake bite, asthma spray, stinging relief, Brown paper bag, Ice pack and the usual items you would normally carry.

9 - Tool kit- with the general tools & these extras. Jumper leads, pocket knife, tape, small 10 by 4 trap (for water crossings) ,tyre compressor or hand/foot pump, a spare battery can be very helpful especially if you use a car fridge.

10 - Recovery Kit, You’ll want something to Jack up the vehicle, so a good jack is a must. Tree huggers, a few D shackles, a bit of chain and the usual recovery gear. You can never have too much rope either, Rope that can be used to splice into a tow rope or to tie up a shelter.

11 - Spare tyre: preference 2, there are many dirt roads and terrain that you may not be familiar with. It is not unusual to have an incident. Always check your tyres before the trip and keep an eye on them throughout your journey, the roads get very hot.

12 - Map – Even if you have never read a map before, if stuck, you can at least head to a road or a water source. However be aware if you see water holes or windmills that are marked on the map. These days they are not guaranteed as most have been disabled or filled in.

13 - Compass more so than a GPS, GPS’s are not always reliable, especially in cloudy or unusual weather. If you had no direction the compass will always show you North or Magnetic North. Remember, to step away from your vehicle when using a compass.

14 - Carry a Swag , Generally Fatigue is a big issue. Pull over if you are getting tired and have a cat nap, Swags are very comfortable under such conditions.
Or pull over, walk around the vehicle, have a drink & refresh yourself.

15 - Carry rubbish bags. The outback is used by wildlife & many travellers. Always carry your litter with you and dispose when possible.

Keep Australia Clean !

If ,you are ever stuck in the Outback. There are several things you should know.
* Never go away from the vehicle. When there is a search for a missing person the vehicle is usually the first thing found.
* If an aeroplane is searching for you, use your revision mirror or mobile phone to reflect the sun towards the aircraft, not into the pilot’s eyes, this makes for easy spotting. It is very hard to visually see a person on the ground. Stand in a clearing and if possible wear colours that would stand out from a distance.
* If you do walk away from the vehicle, leave a sign as to what direction you are going and try to stay on a road. Generally the roads are investigated first.
*Never go on closed roads, you may be fined. Roads are closed for many reasons follow the signs. *Don’t panic. If, you have the supplies & resources in your vehicle, as suggested. You, have 2 to 3 days to work with.

When travelling Act responsibly !!!

The Law of Non Resistance

I was speaking with a teenager the other day and suggested using advice from this law to deal with a number of situations around them at the time.

Many leaders of the world used the "law of non resistance" which had much influence on long term relationships and success.

"If I have made my enemies my friend then I have no enemies"
well you gotta agree, It's pretty good advice.

Bob Proctor & persons in our town, care for the homeless ones.

we gave 4 to one such person and we cared for the other 3 until we sourced a home.

1 of ours and one of the 4 died, we believe due to them fretting for each other.

They sick together and won't move alone.

We thought we had best hang on to them until they were strong.

My hubby made them a hut to sleep in and the local veggie "Dakota" and a crossed great dame/ bull mastive "Judge". they were not at all friendly to the emus, so we kept them seperated.

we would lock up the dogs, while we let the emus have run of the back yard, which is rather large.

Now a couple of months later wander around each other as if they are all family.

I can watch them for ages, they are funny when they are eating. they get a leaf, fling it in the air and grab what they can while they do it. sometimes they are smart and stand on the leaf, but not often.

Hubby built them a water hole to lie in, he had to make it large enough for all 3 to lie down. they love to sun bake that way.

For fun they pick on Judge and nibble at his feet, he allows them until they annoy his head. Yet we saw so many strangers helping each other, it was great to see.

After our meal we walked around to view sights and noticed changes like an underground railway station and extra skyscrapers etc.
Then Anita walked me to the bus station where we separated until the next morning.

I took a delightful trip to the suburb where I was staying and caught up with another friend Jussy, her son Locky and my daughter Gyan, who goes to school in Perth.

Gyan being a teenager was pleased to see me but even more excited about going to a party and within an hour of me arriving she was gone.

That left me having a girly night with Jussy, which was great to chat & relax after the days travel.

Perth

That was the end of day 2 full of Magic Insights

Inspired Trip to Perth Day 1 Thursday

My friend Anita & I wanted to be inspired, we believe in the law of attraction and set about creating.

We decided to go to an event 850kms away in Perth called the "Unlimited Power 2008"

We booked our tickets and were surprised when we were given them as complementary gifts.

Next thing was to book the trip. As Anita has an eye impediment, she & her Guide can travel on the bus for free : ), so the tickets were organised.

It meant travelling to Geraldton 530kms from Meekatharra, staying the night then head to Perth Friday.

We left Meekatharra Thursday morning at 8am and chatted all the way, it was comfortable & the trip went fast.
We arrived at 3:30pm and had a celebration drink at a local watering hole.

We spent the night in Geraldton with our individual friends and family.

I had a great time, my son Rowan had recently obtained his drivers licence and I was so proud when he picked me up and we went driving.

Rowan, Taryn (a friend) & I all spent the night with another friend Rhonda.
Rhonda had brought a new electric lawn mower, which she hadn't used before.
We decided that the lawn needed mowing and while Rhonda prepared a meal, we all took turns in mowing the lawn. Rhonda had a go too, it was fun and we reflected merrily on our accomplishment.

Taryn is engaged to be married, we're excited for her and shared suggestions on making the day great.
Rowan is halfway through his apprenticeship, we spoke about his future plans and we gave him tips on what woman liked, for when he starts seriously dating.
Rhonda is forever creating uses for unwanted items that get tossed by others, she showed us many things each had it's own story. she’s amazing.

We ate and drank the night away, sharing stories and generally catching up.

It was 2am before we all hit the sack.

I'm glad it wasn't a direct route to Perth or I would of missed out on all the magic moments of the day.

Stay tuned for day 2 and be inspired

Empowernet

TransWA Bus Travel

Geraldton lollies take to the town and go to every single home.
My children are now in their mid teens & still love the idea of the truck driving around to give them lollies.

The Veterans Association cook up a Christmas lunch for whom ever is left in town.
And even though I have my family at home I like to share in the company, have a swim or hear the many stories, it's a great way to spend the afternoon.

We maybe in the outback, but I am so proud of the people in my town that give that extra service to others.

I assume you are wondering where in Meekatharra
